Three programs from Tarlac State University College of Science successfully concluded their online program accreditation conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities, Inc. (AACCUP) last September 25, 2026 via Zoom.
The BS Environmental Science and BS Food Technology programs underwent the 3rd Survey Visit, while the BS Mathematics program underwent the 2nd Survey Visit.
Atty. Brigido Corpuz, Presidential Assistant, congratulated the programs for the successful conduct of their accreditation and delivered the message of University President Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza on his behalf.
“This achievement reflects the university’s continuing commitment to quality and excellence. More than recognition, accreditation challenges us to continuously improve our programs, strengthen our practices, and provide our students with an education that prepares them for the demands of the future,” Atty. Corpuz said.
The overall impression and presentation of findings were conveyed by Dr. Maribel S. Tizo from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, coordinator for BSES and BSFT, and Dr. Hadji C. Alegre from Technological University of the Philippines, team leader for BS Math.
Dr. Tizo thanked the university for its support and cooperation. She lauded the BSES for demonstrating commendable performance in faculty development, research, extension, and institutional support.
“The BS Environment Science program has demonstrated a strong foundation for sustained quality, relevance, and continuous improvement. We commend the program, its faculty, administrators, students, and stakeholders for their commitment and accomplishments,” she said.
Moreover, Dr. Tizo said that the BSFT program demonstrated a responsive curriculum that goes beyond compliance and remains aligned with professional practice, industry needs, research, and societal concerns.
Meanwhile, Dr. Alegre has noted that the BS Math department has demonstrated commendable compliance with the AACCUP standards across the areas evaluated.
“The documents were well-organized, comprehensive, and systematically presented, reflecting a culture of quality assurance and continuous improvement that is deeply embedded in your institution,” he said.
In response, College of Science Dean Dr. Mary Jane N. Rigor thanked the AACCUP accreditors, the departments and their chairpersons, and the different offices that participated and supported their college in complying with all the required documents.
“Kudos to all of us. Another milestone for the achievements of the department, the college, and the university as a whole. [To our accreditors] you are indeed our light to complete all the necessary documents to accomplish the recommendations needed for our accreditation and achieving quality education and higher level of accreditation. Through the DALAN framework, we are fully committed to achieving the vision, mission, and objectives of the university in accordance to the strategic objectives and its core values,” she said.
In his closing remarks, Office of Quality Assurance Director Dr. Henry D. Rufino said that the university firmly believes that quality is not something to pursue, but rather a culture that we live and practice every day.
“This is the culture of quality that we continue to build at our university - that quality assurance is a shared responsibility and a collective commitment,” Dr. Rufino said.
The final accreditation result will undergo the prescribed review by the AACCUP technical panel, and the official result will subsequently be communicated to TSU.
