TSU welcomes int'l forensic science conference participants at Lucinda Campus

Tarlac State University hosted the sessions on the third day of the 5th International Forensic Science Conference on December 13, 2024 at the Lucinda Campus.

Themed "Forensic Science without Borders," the conference was the fruit of the efforts of the Provincial Government of Tarlac, the University of the Philippines Manila, Sherlock Institute of Forensic Science, and TSU.

Dr. Henry C. Lee of the University of New Haven, Prof. Jeff Cheng-Lung Lee of the National Tsing Hua University, and Dr. Mahar Lagmay of UP Diliman led the plenary sessions on pioneering forensic science.

Moreover, Dr. Irene D. Valones of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, Dr. Ariel Valones of the Philippine Heart Center, and Dr. Girlie Gonzales of the Central Books delivered topics concerning revolutionizing forensic science.

Meanwhile, Atty. Jewel O. Dela Cruz from TSU School of Law discussed forensic science in justice, focusing on digital forensics.

The plenary sessions were held on the 5th floor of the TSU Hotel.

Afterward, simultaneous breakout sessions took place in various venues at the Lucinda Campus, including the Gabriella Hall of the TSU Hotel and the audio-visual rooms of the Academic Building and the Center for Food Technology and Research.

Among the breakout session speakers is Dr. Roel R. Alviar, College of Criminal Justice Education dean, who talked bout the impact and importance of forensic science on the university's performance in the criminologist licensure exams.

The cultural night for the international guests will commence later this evening.

The conference ran from December 11-13 with participants from Tarlac PNP and students from Holy Angel University, Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas, University of Baguio, Tomas Claudio Colleges, Camarines Norte State University, University of the Philippines' School of Archaeology, and TSU.

The 6th International Forensic Science will be hosted by the University of the Philippines Manila next year. (jlmm-OPA)
