The Tarlac State University Firefoxes settled once more for the third runner-up trophy in the recently concluded SCUAA III 2024 hosted by the Tarlac Agricultural University in Camiling, Tarlac.

During the closing and awarding ceremony held this morning (May 24), TAU announced the final medal tally wherein TSU bagged 43 gold, 55 silver, and 53 bronze medals, with 151 medals in total.

With the university's third year of claiming the same rank, Sports Head Dr. Ligaya Gina S. Salangsang described the TSU delegation's performance as "perfect."

"Perfect para sa akin. It's really, really okay with me. Perfect sa akin. Amazing performance. Makikita mo yung heart, soul, dedication, and determination ng mga bata. Mas higit pa doon ang achievement and accomplishment ng office because shinowcase nila (athletes) lahat, 'yung talagang inexpect natin," Dr. Salangsang said in an interview.

"'Diba sabi ko naman, sa akin bonus na lang 'yung panalo. Ang gusto ko 'yung makita silang nag-grow na alam nila kung saan yung attitude nila," she added.

Dr. Salangsang remains hopeful for next year's regional sports meet as the athletes and coaching staff, with the support of the TSU administration and the Sports Development and Management Unit, will try to convert the silver and bronze medals to gold.

The Bulacan State University is still the SCUAA III overall champion, followed by the Bataan Peninsula State University and Central Luzon State University.

The SCUAA III in 2025 will be hosted by the Pampanga State Agricultural University.
