On September 28, The Society of Information Systems Students (SISS) organized a seminar on "Data Visualization: Using Chart.js on Web Applications" aimed at 4th-year Information Systems (IS) and Computer Science (CS) students. The event took place in the morning at TSU - San Isidro Campus.

Ms. Danica Quiambao, President of SISS, initiated the seminar with a prayer, followed by the national anthem and TSU hymn. Dr. Alvincent Danganan, the college dean, introduced the seminar's theme and emphasized the importance of Chart.js in enhancing online data visualization. He encouraged active participation and expressed gratitude for the seminar's continuation amidst online classes.

SISS adviser, Sir Rovell Asidera, introduced Mr. Ian Rex Espinosa, a TSU Magna Cum Laude graduate. Mr. Espinosa shared insights on the differences between websites and web applications, highlighting that web applications focus on organizational processes and don't require installation. He demonstrated Chart.js usage for creating data visualizations in online applications, including dashboards, reports, and presentations.

Ma'am Ronalyn Domingo, the IS Chairperson, delivered an inspiring speech on pursuing life aspirations. She stressed that "success is not a straight line" and requires dedication and self-support. She wished all attendees success as Sir Rovell Asidera concluded the event, expressing gratitude to the organizers and The Browser publication for their coverage.

In an afternoon session aimed at empowering the next generation of information technologists, the Society of Information Systems Students (SISS) conducted a Data Visualization seminar at the Tarlac State University's College of Computer Studies Audio-Visual Room (CCS AVR) for senior BSIT students.

In a thought-provoking afternoon session, BSIT students learned the importance of data, guided by Sir Joselito Tan's compelling message: "Always be hungry for knowledge." He expressed deep gratitude to organizers, participants, and Mr. Rex Ian Espinosa for his invaluable expertise.

Sir Tan's impactful declaration, "Data is the new oil," set the tone for the seminar. Decision-making now hinges on data, and data visualization emerges as the key. Visualizing data empowers informed decisions and the extraction of meaningful insights. Sir Tan encouraged students to mine data effectively.

Miss Danica Quiambao, SISS President, introduced the seminar's speaker, Mr. Rex Ian Espinosa. Mr. Espinosa unveiled the power of data visualization in today's digital landscape, leveraging the chart.js library. He shared his journey from intern to a full-fledged employee, emphasizing students' potential during their OJT placements. The seminar commenced with a spotlight on the distinctions between websites and web applications, the essence of dashboards, and Chart.js's significance.

In her closing remarks, Ma'am Ronalyn Domingo highlighted the role of free-flowing data and data visualization in informed decision-making, especially with big data. She stressed adaptability as the core skill bridging academia and the professional world. Ma'am Domingo extended her best wishes, urging everyone to stay hungry for knowledge and new skills.

The seminar revealed the potency of data, provided practical insights into data visualization, and championed the spirit of adaptability. It equipped TSU CCS students with essential knowledge for their professional journeys.
